REMINDER: Employers can start filing their 2022 EEO-1 Reports
Just as I had finished raiding my kids’ hauls for all the Butterfingers and 100 Grands, it was at that moment that I remembered that the sweetest part of Halloween, the real HR nerd candy, was that the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission had announced the opening of 2022 EEO-1 Component 1 Data Collection.
Then, I grabbed a few mini boxes of Nerds too.
But back to the EEO-1s.
The EEO-1 Component 1 report is a mandatory EEOC annual data collection requiring all private sector employers with 100 or more employees and federal contractors with 50 or more employees meeting specific criteria to submit workforce demographic data, including data by job category and sex and race or ethnicity.
Need help with your filing? There’s a new EEO-1 Component 1 Instruction Booklet. The EEOC highlights that “this booklet consolidates existing support materials, including frequently asked questions and fact sheets into a single resource for filers and provides additional information to clarify eligibility and reporting requirements.”
The EEOC has self-service options and an online Filer Support Team Message Center for filer support. The center allows filers to submit requests for assistance to the EEOC within the EEO-1 Component 1 Online Filing System (OFS), update requests with new information, terminate requests, and track the status of requests. The 2022 EEO-1 Component 1 Data File Upload Specifications are also available here.
For more information about EEO-1, head to the EEO-1 Component 1 website.
The deadline to file the 2022 EEO-1 Component 1 report is Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
