I didn’t mean to startle some of you yesterday.
In yesterday’s post, I teased that we would rank the Thanksgiving foods today. But in doing so, I linked to last year’s survey, which is closed. Sorry about that.
For those new to the blog, each year before Thanksgiving, readers get to rank the best Thanksgiving foods … and green bean casserole. Thirty-two items are divided into four categories: (1) Proteins, (2) Starches, (3) Veggies, and (4) Desserts and Drinks.
Take this poll and pick one winner in each category. Then, select an overall winner. I’ll post the results of this year’s survey on Friday! (Last year’s winners were Light Meat Turkey, Stuffing, Green Bean Casserole with Crispy Onions, and Homemade Pumpkin Pie.)
As per usual, I continue to tinker with the entries. Although stuffing has dominated the overall rankings through the years, I believe I have created a viable challenger by combining beer, wine, and spirits into one entry.
Not that I’m judging.
After all, Wild Turkey is basically turkey. They both may make you sleepy, but only one will get you through all the political discussion at the dinner table, amirite?
This Thanksgiving, may your turkey be moist, the Dallas Cowboys lose, and your kids’ table be in a soundproofed room.
In all seriousness, I’m thankful for all of you, and I wish you a happy, healthy holiday surrounded by friends and family.
