Seems appropriate to broach this trench-HR conundrum on a hump day, amirite?
(Don’t worry. I’ll be here all week).
As I two-finger type away at my keyboard on this blog post, I see that Aliah Wright‘s “Employee by Day, Adult Film Actress by Night: What Should HR Do?” is the second-most popular post right now on SHRM.org.
Here’s a little teaser from Aliah’s article…
What would you do if you discovered through social media that one of your employees was moonlighting as an actor in pornographic movies?
That question was recently posed in SHRM Connect, the Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM) online discussion group for SHRM members. The anonymous writer, whom SHRM was unable to reach for comment on this article, sought advice on what to do about an administrative assistant who was working a second job making porn.
And I’m honored — I wear it as a literal badge of honor, right next my official badge of Officer Crumb from the Cookie Crisp cereal box — that Aliah would tap me for expert commentary for her article. (There I go again; I buried the lede). Still, I can’t take credit for the quality or popularity of the article — maybe a click and three or four refreshes. Otherwise, Aliah crushed it!
So, if you’re looking for a good Wednesday read, clutch your pearls, and click here to read Aliah’s article about something with which you’ll hopefully never have to deal.
Then again, you’re in Human Resources. The stories you could probably tell would make Kardashian blush. Any of them.
